Changing Your Hair Colour to Go With Different Outfits

Changing your hair colour is one of the quickest ways to change your look entirely. It’s something that people will notice immediately and it will make a real statement. Whilst many types of hair colour that you’d find in a salon will last until they grow out, there are now many less permanent options on the market that will last a much shorter time. This gives you the freedom to change your look almost instantly, as often as you like. Here are some of the most popular ways:

  • Semi-permanent all over c0lour. This will come in a packet and will need to be applied in the same way as a permanent colour. Wear gloves, avoid contact with your face and ensure that you have an even coverage of colour. You may want to ask a friend to help you, especially at the back.
  • Chalking. Hair chalk comes in many different colours and can simply be rubbed straight onto the hair to colour it. Chalk colour will usually only last one wash.
  • Coloured sprays. You can use these directly on your hair to colour specific sections or you whole head. Again, they will usually last for one wash.
  • Food colouring. Apply it to the section of your hair that you want to dye and leave for 24 hours before washing. Use a smaller amount for light hair, as it will be more vibrant.
  • Clip-in pieces. Using one of these gives you the freedom to add an individual streak of colour to your hair whenever you want. You can use multiple pieces, or pieces in different colours. Just ensure that you hide the clip thoroughly – you may want to pin the piece in underneath your hair.
