This is the beginners guide to what a cravat is, and the different types of cravats you can wear.
The best way to describe a cravat is a type of neck-wear which is worn with an open collar shirt. Known as a men’s accessory item, the fabric is generally tucked in behind the shirt covering the chest area. The other popular type of cravat is a wedding cravat which is similar to a tie but again covers the chest area, but this time on the outside of the shirt.
Casual Cravat – this is the informal style of cravat which is worn with an open collar shirt. Males and females tend to wear these.
Wedding Cravat – This is basically a tie with a scrunched up knot. Stylish and worn over the shirt, this is perfect for a celebratory occasion.
